As all of you have heard the Zeplins in the City is no more but don?t cry for the old Zeplins because a new one has a risen out of the ashes and is located in wonder boom.

You ask were? If you take voortekker road and go over the mountain you turn right at the second robot and turn in were weskus kombuis is you will find this assume venue.

As you walk into the New Zeplins you discover it is an wet dream for any band, because the stage is nee high and is equipped with an assume sound system, Drum kit, bass and guitar amps. And upstairs is the gallery that is equipped with an extra bar and dance flour.

Scarlet Box started out the show with explosive riffs and lyric?s. They have come a long way and with there new lady Drummer Lucille and male Lead Guitarist Wilkie joining Jenna (Vocalist & Guitarist), Jitka (Bassist & Backing Vocals) last year you cant help but to feed of the energy that oozes from the stage. Since Scarlet Box launching their second album, ?And The Rest Of Us Die Out,? on 14 June 2008 at Boston Tea Party in Menlyn they have worked the South African music scene with guys and girls all alike flocking to there shows. With three ladies on stage, one can argue that their guy fans is just there to watch the eye candy but when they start playing that myth is shattered completely because they not only hypnotize you with there beauty but also with song lyric?s and instruments flowing together. One of there new songs that stand out for us is ?I Knew? with it hardcore riffs and the catchy lyrics you can?t get it out of your head. This song is about a long standing love that is growing apart with you feeling why it happened to you only for it to go away. In the back of your head you knew it was going to happen but your eye was shut to what is happening around you. . ?Bound? also rocked Zeppelins? roof off and when you listen to the lyrics especially ?don?t trust me when you bound? which mean that that you shouldn?t look at me when you jump or leap because I will not be there when you crash and burn. Other songs that rocked us was ?Happy? but don?t take my word for it, come and see for yourself next time the play a venue near you.

Before La Cobra took the stage there was some entertainment for the Men in a form of a stripper. Yea that?s wright a stripper. The La Cobra Extravaganza make you expect the unexpected especially when they bring back the sleaze into your town. After the tops flew from the stage it was time for some serious Old School rock and roll with Don Cobra (Vocalist & Guitarist), T-bone Billy (Bassist), John Strong (Lead Guitar) and the Animal (Drums) all playing a part to start of with an unforgettable show. There stage presage is an mind blowing experience with Don Cobra wearing his snake skin hot pants that complement his seductive voice, the animal just attacking the drums, John Strong making hard sexy love to his guitar and T-bone Billy making the bass scream for more.  We went to refill our beer at the bar and Jenna of Scarlet Box reviled to us that was the first time she have seen La Cobra live and she is loving every moment of their show. You can see why with hair flowing from side to side and band members moving on stage blazing guitars and bass side by side.

La Cobra cased a melt down with there show, with them casing a temporary black out, no worries the Animal kept us entertained for a few minutes until the power was restored and the show went on with ?Danger Danger? and there new song ?Back Roads?. ?Back Roads? is an assume song that start out with guitars blazing, then the lyrics hit you and before you know it  you are singing ?we are never going to fall standing one for all?. This song is about standing up for your self and not letting anything push you down. This song has power full lyrics that say forget the bad times, remember the good times, go and grab your future on day at a time. Not only did this new song rocked but you were part of it because La Cobra were filming the music video for ?Back Roads? on the night. The show ended with La Cobra rendition of ?We are not going to take it?, which is a favourite of ours and the crowd that went ape with fists in the air and the words ?We are not going to take it? coming out of our mouths.

For more news on Scarlet Box and La Cobra check out there websites on our links page and their pictures on our galaries page? Good Night and we will be rocking with you soon, so See Ya Then.
