The three new coaches Riki Rick, Francois van Coke, and Riana Nel will bring a fresh approach to the popular M-Net singing competition when the third seasons starts in 2019. They join Afro-soul artist and the only remaining coach from the first two seasons, Lira in the search for the next big local music star.
“Our new coaches are all movers and shakers in their own spheres, and the mix of unique personalities will bring a whole new chemistry to the show,” says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard.
Following the massive success off Fokofpolisiekar and Van Coke Kartel, Francois kicked off his solo career in 2015 with the release of the most poignant ballad of that year Toe Vind Ek Jou featuring former The Voice SA coach, Karen Zoid. The song quickly jumped to the number 1 position on iTunes and became the biggest Afrikaans music video of 2015, with more than one million views.
"I believe I can give something back to a young artist. I am looking for a unique talent. Someone passionate and someone who will let us feel. I am going to fill up my team with people that will inspire us all," van Coke wrote in an Instagram post.
